Go Play with the Dashboard Module

People at Trellon have been working on the Dashboard module as part of the Drupal.org redesign. A new version came out the other day, and we could use some help testing it and getting some feedback.

Dashboard is available at http://drupal.org/project/dashboard. It lets users create personalized dashboards with drag and drop interfaces. Administrators can create widgets for people to place on their dashboards, and there is a widget browser where people can filter down into different types of widgets. Kind of like iGoogle, but with support for nodes and blocks.

We tested this module extensively prior to release and it appears to be farily stable. Before getting into another major feature roll out, it would be helpful to collect people's impressions on this version and get it all nice, polished and fancy.

So, go grab a copy, play around with it, and contribute your concerns about perceived defects and imperfections in the issue queue. Thank you in advance!

The link to the Dashboard

The link to the Dashboard demo links to http://staging1.drupal.org and requires http authentication. I like to see a demo before I go rabbit trailing with an install.

Note to commenters: The Captcha image on this comment form was not visible until I after I hit the submit button. These Captchas are also very unreadable. This is my 5th attempt...

@Zach - the link to the demo

@Zach - the link to the demo is part of the redesign project. Sorry, I don't control those servers, so I don't have any say about who gets to link to it.

I did remove the link to the staging server for the purposes of clarity, and will let you know when I do set up a public demo. Regarding the captcha, we have been getting hit heavily by comment spammers and are experimenting with different captcha technologies. Mollom just was not getting the job done for us. That should be made a little simpler now.

yeah--- it would be great if

yeah--- it would be great if this were deployed to staging1. And my guess is you'd get a lot more user feedback that way. I can get through to staging1, but I get 'access denied' when i click on the 'dashboard' tab.

PS the other poster is right-- this is the worst captcha i've ever tried to use.

Thanks for the feedback,

Thanks for the feedback, we're in the process of changing captcha. The current captcha is only a very temporary measure and we will have a replacement up shortly.

Dashboard is deployed to

Dashboard is deployed to staging1, and the reason you are getting an access denied error is that you are not logged in. The theming people are going to have to remove that tab for non-authenticated users, or maybe replace the error message with something that tells people to log in.
